About Budnuts Mini Donuts

Budnuts Mini Donuts began as a family tradition — one built on warm donuts, hard work, and a whole lot of love.

The story started years ago in the Texas Panhandle, where my Mom ran Sandra’s Mini Donuts at the T Anchor Flea Market in Amarillo for over 25 years. I worked alongside her for two decades, and together we watched people come from all over the Panhandle for our little donuts. It was never just about the food — it was about connection, consistency, and joy.

During the pandemic in 2020, after my mom came to live with Captain Buddy and me, we created a Texas Cottage Bakery in our home and reintroduced those beloved mini donuts under a new name — Budnuts Mini Donuts, named after Buddy himself. What started as home deliveries soon grew into a drive-thru donut shop, and a new chapter was born.

Today, Budnuts is proudly popping up along the Texas coast — bringing that same family recipe, made-to-order freshness, and happy energy to markets, festivals, and beachside events. This coastal launch has been a bucket-list dream years in the making, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Captain Buddy may have started out as an auto mechanic, but don’t let that fool you — he just might be the best donut maker in the state of Texas.
